Actions:

  • Flowers - diuretic, antispasmodic, expectorant, laxative, promotes vomiting
  • Buds - antibacterial, reduces blood pressure, anti-inflammatory, mild diuretic, antispasmodic
  • Stems - cooling

Therapeutic use: bad coughs, asthma, feverish conditions, clear toxicity, diarrhea

Dosage/Application:

  • Infusions - coughs, asthma
  • Syrup - coughs
  • Decoction - (buds) early stages of feverish colds, 10-15 g to 600 ml water, (stems) inflammatory disease, painful joints, and influenza, 15-30 g to 600 ml water.
  • Tincture - diarrhea or gastroenteritis from food poisoning
